Congratulations to all recent progeny winners and their riders and owners, please do keep letting us know when you've been out competing, we love to hear how you have been getting on.
Ravendale Stud broodmares and their 2010 foals by Medoc.
(All colts this year - well done!)
November
We have been incredibly fortunate to accquire the 100 day tested and licensed Hanoverian Stallion, Saint Malo. He is graded with the Hanoverian Verband and licensed with the British Hanoverian Horse Society. He has a superb dual purpose pedigree by Salieri, Grand Prix Showjumper and winner of the Sires of the World class at Hannover 2000. Salieri is also sire of Anky van Grunsven`s "Salinero", the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Gold Medallist and the Grand Prix show jumper "Seven Up", who also competed at the 2008 Olympics. Saint Malo's dam, Arosa, has also produced approved state stud stallion, Gripaldi, top-selling Verden auction horse, Whoopi B, Saint Malo's full brother Satchmo, who competed M show jumping before he was sold to Mexico. A full-brother to Arosa, Tranquilo, sold expensively at Verden and became a Silver medallist at the European Young Rider Championships in his later career.

During his stud career, Saint Malo has covered mares in Germany and Sweden and his progeny are successfully competing in dressage and showjumping. His eldest offspring in the UK are now just 2 years old. His own promising dressage career was sadly cut short following a car accident in 2002 but his stallion performance test results confirm his undoubted talent - Character 9, Walk 9.33, Trot 9 and Canter 8.
We look forward to adding more information about him for you and pictures to the site soon.
Jancol Marco is on a roll! As winner of the Freestyle at Oldencraig with a superb 75.93%, he and rider Paul Hayler are now qualified for the Regional Championships. The combination were also winners of both Medium's at Brook Farm recently with 71% & 73% to qualify for the Winter Championships. Great results.
Y Matilda won another Medium at Manor Grange on 23rd November with 68% and did her first Adv Med for a very creditable 65%. Here's looking forward to 2011!
High Hopes for 2011.

Newsflash for August
It is with the greatest sadness we share with you that Medoc passed away
on Saturday 31st July. He had been in grand health and had a super
covering season. The vets were fantastic but nothing could be done for
an internal injury that became apparent on the Saturday morning.
Throughout all he was his amazing, brave, calm self. Aged 20, he'd had a
fabulous innings, succeeding in every area of his career and then
becoming an influential sire for British Breeding.
A enormous thank you to everyone who has supported Medoc over the years,
your enthusiasm for Medoc has been much appreciated and we hope that you
continue to be proud of his offspring. We were honoured to have such a
horse with us for a decade and he leaves big hoofprints to fill and a
big hole in our hearts.
Medoc Offspring clean up at Revesby Show
Despite our terrible news, Medoc's progeny waved the flag for him in
emphatic style with a 1, 2, 3 in the 2-3 year old Sports Horse class and
then claiming the overall Sports Horse Champion at Revesby Show, Lincs.
Three Medoc offspring filled the top 3 places in the 2-3 year old Sports
Horse class, with the winner Oxcombe Medvind going on to win the Sport
Horse Championship. Congratulations to Annika Earl with Medvind who is
out of a TB mare, 2nd placed Cracker with Sonia Burley and
3rd placed Spring Serenade and Nicola Cumpstone. A Medoc yearling also
won the Yearling Sport Horse Class - a total clean-up in the Sport Horse
department!

MARCH
NED DATABASE - have you checked your horses details yet? The National Equine Database (UK) needs your help to make sure horse records contained on it are correct. Medoc ranks as a top senior British based stallion on the NED database, but some of his offspring's NED records do not show their breeding and therefore, do not count statistically. As horse owner & passport holder only you are able to update your horses information. Check your horses records show their breeding & links to any performance records from British Dressage, British Eventing or British Showjumping. Visit www.nedonline.co.uk to check and update your horse now. This will be a priceless breeding tool for the British Breeding Industry but it needs your support now.. Thanks!
