Sire: SALIERI
Salieri is a top class sire of international jumper and dressage competitors. His most famous son is Salinero, 2004 & 2008 Dressage Olympic Gold medallist and multiple FEI World Cup winner, ridden by Anky van Grunsven.
Salinero was ranked Number 1 dressage horse in the world in 2005 by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses, having won the World Cup Finals and the European Dressage Championships in the same year. Aged 16 in 2010, and having been competing at the highest level for six years, Salinero and Anky are still winning. This year they took the World Dressage Masters CDI 5* - Grand Prix Musical for the second time in a row.
Partnered by Anky van Grunsven, Salinero's dressage career is legendary, below some of the highlights:-
- 2004 Olympic Individual Gold medallist in Athens.
- FEI World Dressage Individual Gold Medallist 2004, 2005 & 2006.
- 2005 Winner of European Dressage Championships
- 2005 Winner of World Cup Finals
- 2008 Olympic Gold Medallist in Hong Kong
- World Dressage Masters CDI 5* - Grand Prix Musical 2009 & 2010.
Salieri is also the sire of Grand Prix and Olympic showjumper, Seven Up, ridden by Oleg Krasug and Franke Sloothak. A demonstration of the true dual purpose versatility of this breeding is that Salinero and Seven Up are full brothers. Out of Luna (by Lungau, by Lugano) , the brothers represented their sire in 1999 and 2000 at the Federal Championships in Warendor, in dressage and jumping and at the 2008 Olympic Games. No other stallion can yet claim to have sired two horses competing in different disciplines, at the same Olympic Games, never mind being full brothers!
Salieri has two approved stallion sons, in Salisbury and Saint Malo.
Salisbury (Salieri x Pik Bube 1)
Sally B, a State Premium full sister to Salisbury has also won competitions up to class M in Germany.
Sally B (Salieri x Pik Bube 1)
Salieri has an impressive performance record of his own. He had victories show jumping in Class S as a seven year old and made his international breakthrough under Holger Wulschner. In 2000, he won the Sires of the World class at the Hannover horse show. In 2001, he won the Audi Cup in Leipzig and in 2002 he had a victory in Norten-Hardenberg which brought his winnings to €116,000.
Salieri in action
Salieri's sire, Salvano is well known for producing dressage as well as show jumping offspring. He sired the stallions Sherlock Holmes (x Akzent 1 dam) a notable stallion in his own right with equally talented dressage and jumping progeny and Salvanto who was 5th of 40 with a score of 120.05 points in his 1987 performance test. Also, young stallion Saltarello (out of an Argument mare).
With similar breeding to Saint Malo is State Premium mare Salinka, by Salvano out of an Ataturk (by Atlas) mare.
DAM - AROSA
Saint Malo's dam, Arosa, has produced a line of high achieving offspring, including the approved Celle state stud stallion, Grapaldi, by Grandsigneur.
Grapaldi (Grandsigneur x Atlas/ Toscanini)
Arosa is also dam of top-selling Verden auction horse Whoopi B, Saint Malo's full brother Satchmo, who competed M show jumping in Germany before he was sold to Mexico and Winona, by Watussi, competing in L classes showjumping.
Whoopi B (Watussi x Atlas/ Toscanini)
Arosa's full-brother named Tranquilo, sold expensively at the Verden auction and became a Silver medallist at the European Young rider championships later in his career.
Grand sire, Atlas was a State Stud stallion at Celle, Germany. He was half TB, and his son Atatürk is a very successful sire. His offspring has together won €240,084 in competition. Great grandsire Toscanini, also stood at the Celle State Stud. His offspring won together €100, 938 prizemoney, and his daughter, Tosca was very successful in M dressage (also out of an Atlas dam).
